{"id":680,"date":"2024-07-26T15:15:52","date_gmt":"2024-07-26T18:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/162.240.171.204\/~wwvbso\/?p=680"},"modified":"2024-08-14T18:12:26","modified_gmt":"2024-08-14T21:12:26","slug":"en-vbso-and-monteiro-rusu-tokenize-commercial-paper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vbso.com.br\/en\/en-vbso-and-monteiro-rusu-tokenize-commercial-paper\/","title":{"rendered":"VBSO and Monteiro Rusu tokenize commercial paper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Latin American Lawyer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>VBSO Advogados <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Monteiro Rusu Advogados<\/strong>, together with\u00a0<strong>Ita\u00fa, Laqus, Liqi and Oliveira Trust,\u00a0<\/strong>tokenized a commercial paper worth R$ 40 million from a company in the electric sector following the regulations of a traditional public offering.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, the institutions did not need to transform the operation into an investment via crowdfunding, as the market has been doing since the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) published two notices on how companies can offer investment products registered on blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>In this tokenization, Ita\u00fa BBA originated and structured the credit with a maturity of five and a half years, Ita\u00fa was the investor, Laqus acted as the central depository, Liqi registered the asset on the blockchain, Oliveira Trust served as fiduciary agent, registrar, and settlement bank.
