Renato Buranello holds a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Commercial Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP), with additional teaching qualifications in Law and Economics from Direito FGV/RJ. He is a Partner at VBSO Advogados, Coordinator of the Agribusiness Law Course at Insper, Vice-President of the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (ABAG), and a Member of the Credit, Marketing, and Insurance Chamber of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) and the Superior Council of Agribusiness (COSAG) of FIESP. He is also a Founding Partner and Director of the Brazilian Institute of Agribusiness Law (IBDA). With extensive experience in the sector, Renato is the Coordinator of the Brazilian Journal of Agribusiness Law. In addition to coordinating the publication Financing Agribusiness: Comments on Law 13.986/2020, he is the author of several books including Rural Product Certificate: Agricultural Markets and Production Financing, Manual of Agribusiness Law, Agribusiness Receivables Certificate: Agroindustrial Systems and the Capital Market, Private Agribusiness Financing System: Legal Framework and Insurance Contract: Contractual Obligation Guarantee Insurance.

Experience:

Renato is recognized as highly specialized in agribusiness issues by leading publications and legal rankings and is considered a leader in advising clients within the agroindustrial chain and the financial and capital markets. He operates centrally, focusing on integrated solutions for issues, risk management, and an economic perspective on the activity. He represents major companies in inputs and fertilizers in their barter operations, works with leading financial institutions in debt and trading finance operations, and specializes in the development of major sector securitization operations.

In his professional activities, he participates in strategic national and international forums, maintaining close relationships with regulatory bodies, ministries, and agribusiness research centers. He is a professor at B3 Educação / Instituto Educacional BM&F Bovespa and Coordinator of the Agribusiness Law Course at Insper. He is also a visiting professor in the Business Law course at PUC/SP. He is a member of the Credit, Marketing, and Insurance Chamber of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (MAPA). Additionally, he serves as an arbitrator at the Chamber of Mediation and Arbitration of the Brazilian Rural Society (CARB), the Arbitration, Mediation, and Conciliation Chamber of the Center for Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (CIERGS), is the President of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (ABAG), and a Councilor of the Superior Council of Agribusiness (COSAG).
